Guardia Civil is a Spanish national Security Force founded in 1844. Among the different special units that comprise Guardia Civil, the SEDEX-NRBQ Service is specialised in the search, detection, neutralisation and disposal of explosives, incendiary devices and radiological, biological and chemical artifacts.
Further more, the SEDEX-NRBQ Service centralises the Intelligence activities related to explosives (Bomb Data Centre); research on new techniques; and development, evaluation and acquisition of new materials and equipment. In addition, the Explosive Deactivation and Defence Training Centre belonging to SEDEX-NRBQ service is in charge of education and research of new technicians. The SEDEX-NRBQ Service was founded in 1973 and, since then, has undertaken a big evolution and development thanks to an extensive experience in the fight against explosives mainly from terrorist origin. SEDEX-NRBQ is dependent from the Police and Guardia Civil General Directorate which is an authority under the Ministry of the Interior. website: www.guardiacivil.org |
