The Laser Laboratory (Department of Analytical Chemistry, University of Malaga) is a research group established in 1987 specialized in laser processing and analysis of materials. The group offers quick-turn-around, cost-effective solutions to a variety of research and technical problems in diverse applications areas including homeland security, microelectronics, process monitoring technologies, environment, cultural heritage and steel products and processes.
The group has completed challenging programs with many companies and institutions such as Acerinox, IRSID, Isofotón, Siemens-Matsushita, EPCOS, INDRA Sistemas, Andalusian Institute for Cultural Heritage, ILT (DE), Thyssen-Krupp Stahl, MEFOS (SE), CRM (BE), OCAS (BE), CORUS (UK), Aceralia (ES), Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro (IT), Saarstahl (DE), ARL (CH), ISQ (PT), Istituto Superiore di Sanitá (IT), Ford Hispania, Seat (ES) and Volvo (SE) among others. Available resources at the Laboratory include large-area photo-ablation tools, excimer, Nd:YAG, Ar+, dye, nitrogen and other scientific and industrial lasers, spectral analysis instruments, mass spectrometers, imaging equipment, processing facilities and software design tools. Besides, the Central Research Facility of the University of Malaga supplies additional characterization technologies including SEM, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Auger electron spectroscopy and X-ray microprobe analysis. Besides, the Laser Laboratory also designs and builds complete spectroanalytical systems to custom specifications, including compositional mapping systems, remote analysis instruments and portable/field deployable prototypes. website: www.uma.es |
